About Implants
What You Should Know
Dental implants serve as an artificial root system, not merely a superficial tooth replacement. When you lose a tooth and do not replace it, the rest of your teeth start to shift into that empty gap. This shift opens up spaces where bacteria can grow and weaken your oral structures. While there are various ways to replace a lost tooth, the only permanent and most natural solution is a dental implant.
The process of getting dental implants happens in a few stages. Initially, we fit a titanium implant into your jaw. Over the next few months, your healthy bone tissue will gradually grow around this implant, solidifying it in place and creating a new root system. This phase takes a bit of time as bone growth is a slow process. Once this is complete, during your follow-up appointment, we add an abutment to the implant post. Finally, in the last appointment, we place your permanent dental crown.
With dental implants, you regain natural tooth function. It feels just like a new tooth, requiring no special care instructions, no compromises on your favorite foods, and no discomfort to your neighboring teeth.

Replacing a lost tooth can be done in a few ways with the only permanent solution being a dental implant.
Dental implants act as an artificial root system rather than just a tooth-replacement. The entire process for dental implants usually takes several months to complete. However, the lifelong benefits of this tooth-replacement option more than make up for the initial time commitment.
The base of an implant is a titanium column, atop of which sits an abutment, which will connect the column to a dental crown.
he patient is fitted with the titanium implant post through a guided surgical procedure performed under local anesthetic.
A single implant may be placed to replace a solitary tooth, or several implants may be placed to support a denture appliance.
Once the implant is inserted, healthy bone tissue will gradually grow around it, firmly holding it into place as a new root system. This process takes a few months, as the bone grows rather slowly.
After a return appointment to place an abutment onto the implant post, the final appointment includes the placement of the permanent dental crown.
